What are GuestIDs?
GuestIDs are temporary accounts that can be used to access Brown's network (both the wired network and via wireless). Typically, GuestIDs are used by visitors who are on campus for a short time, including: conference attendees, guest speakers, etc.
GuestIDs may not be used for accessing Brown's public clusters or any other electronic service that requires Brown authentication. GuestIDs do not get a Brown mailbox, but they may send email through Brown's SMTP mail relays.
All GuestIDs are valid for a maximum of 30 days. After their expiration date, the GuestID "expires" and can no longer be used. It is possible to extend the expiration date, as well, through the GuestID system.
