PURPOSE: To demonstrate total internal reflection of a
laser light.
DESCRIPTION: The laser light enters one end of a graduated cylinder filled with
water and a small amount of scatter liquid. When the laser is pointed into the water
it undergoes a series of internal reflections from thetop surface of the water to the
bottom of the cylinder.
EQUIPMENT: Laser and graduated cylinder filled with water and scatter liquid concentrate.
