PURPOSE: To show the properties of a cycloid path.
DESCRIPTION: Two balls on a cycloid track are released simultaneously. They always meet in the middle regardless of the difference in their respective starting heights. This is the "tautochrone" property that come from the "brachistochrone" problem. AJP reference articles are available.
EQUIPMENT: Cycloid track is stored in the x-ray room 055. Balls in mechanics.
