PURPOSE: To talk about the forces on circular motion.
DESCRIPTION: A circular ring rests on the overhead. The ring has a gap. A ball is placed inside the ring and is pushed to roll inside the rim. When the ball reaches the gap it is observed to change direction and travel tangentially.
EQUIPMENT: Stored in mechanics.
SETUP NOTES: Align it so the ball rolls into the slot on the overhead.
