PURPOSE: To show the recalescence of iron wire and to show the coefficient of thermal expansion for an iron wire.
DESCRIPTION: An apparatus has an iron wire connected to a meter. An electrical current is forced through the wire by a power supply. When the wire is heated the length changes.
